Whether you want to ensure that your nuts, crisps or biscuits retain that crunchy bite or you’re concerned about the protection, portioning and user-friendly packaging of your rice, sugar, sweets or pasta – we will find the optimal packaging while taking into account the required barrier, user convenience and recyclability.
Frequently used packaging types include packaging film roll that versatile machines process into flowpack or stand-up pouches. The preformed pouches, Box pouches, Sidefold or Quadroseal packaging and K-seal stand-up pouches are popular because of their durability, ability to stay upright and user convenience. Frequently used options are handles and zippers.
Fresh, or temperature controlled products mostly refer to products that are freshly packed, meaning not preserved. Both foil and preformed bags can be used for this, with, for example, a suitable perforation for an optimal shelf life of fresh vegetables or fruit.
Chilled products are stored refrigerated until consumed as this extends the shelf life and delays the growth of bacteria and mould. Preparing meals traditionally and then chilling these rapidly, often through blast chilling, preserves both the flavour and nutritional content.
The packaging can also be subject to an anti-fog treatment, so that the product remains easily visible in the refrigerator. A barrier can also be used, for instance with flat pouches for vacuum packaging of fish or meat for extra long shelf life. Frequently used packaging includes flat pouches, Doypacks, K-seal stand-up pouches as well as packaging film roll which offers a diverse range of packaging solutions.
Frozen products are blast chilled after cooking to well below freezing point. This retains the flavour and nutritional content and the products can be stored for many months in the freezer. Both preformed packaging as well as packaging film roll are suitable for this. A stand-up pouch is good for optimal presentation, ensuring that the product really stands out in the supermarket’s freezer section.
Products that are stored at room temperature can be kept for a long period at temperatures of around 20 C°. These are generally dry products, such as nuts, pasta, rice and sweets. These are mainly packaged in packaging film roll. Preformed pouches can also be used if this is better for production or presentation. This includes box pouches or block bottom pouches
